Abstract

The movie "Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap" presents various inner conflicts faced by the Batak community, covering the complexity of life, including cultural values, traditions, and norms adopted, as well as various challenges faced in modern life. The movie is very related to the life of modern Indonesian society today. This research aims to describe the forms of inner conflict experienced by the characters contained in the movie Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap by Bene Dion. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a literary psychology approach. Primary data is obtained from the dialog, expressions, and gestures of the characters in the film, especially those that reflect the inner conflict under study. Data collection was done through film observation, text analysis, and dialog recording. Data analysis used a qualitative descriptive approach with the application of Sigmund Freud's Literary Psychology Theory to identify inner conflicts. The results found 86 inner conflicts in the movie "Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap", with 28 conflicts related to Id, 30 related to ego, and 28 related to superego. The most inner conflicts are raised by Mr. Domu's character, which is 46.
